A bronze eagle on rock sculpture in Meiji period (1868-1912). Crouched down with wings outstretched, ready to hunt. The bronze is with a rich deep patina; colored chocolate brown for the bird and near black for the outcrop. Finely detailed feather wings and the eyes are gilt. Wings, body, and base are detachable.
